Asphalt Paving Company – How Asphalt Is Good for Ohio

Your friendly local asphalt paving company isn’t simply here to install better roads, parking lots, and driveways.  We help the community!  Asphalt is a product with many benefits, and we’re legitimately proud to work with it.  Sure, asphalt might be something that’s easy to overlook or take for granted, but that’s all the more reason to take a moment and think about all the good it does.

Here are just a few of the ways asphalt can improve Ohio.

Four Ways an Asphalt Paving Company Is Good for Your Community

  1. Creating jobs

Right now, more jobs are always needed, and asphalt-based construction is great for creating them.  After all, asphalt is used in so many projects, from public roadways to private business construction.  Whenever your community decides to upgrade its streets and highways, and whenever a businessperson decides to repair their driveway, that’s helping put dollars in people’s pockets.

  1. Better performance in cold weather

Which is better for roadways in areas like Ohio which can see bitterly cold winters, asphalt or concrete?  That’s easy – it’s asphalt by a mile.  Concrete is extremely vulnerable to having water seep into its pores, then cracking while when that water freezes.  Asphalt is much more resistant.  Plus, the dark coloring of asphalt allows it to more easily absorb the sun’s heat – keeping the asphalt warmer and discouraging ice buildup.

That means better roads, and fewer repair bills, during the winter.

  1. Asphalt is totally recyclable

Some people assume that asphalt isn’t “green” because petroleum and tar are part of its makeup.  However, what they aren’t considering is that asphalt is 100% recyclable!  If we ever have to rip up an existing asphalt pour, that asphalt isn’t wasted – it’s reheated and reused.

In fact, the only time new asphalt is made is when there’s no recyclable material to use.  Otherwise, we just keep reusing what’s already out there.  One day, it may not be necessary to make new asphalt at all!

  1. Noise reduction

Another added bonus of asphalt is that it’s the quietest roadway material.  An asphalt highway is going to be around 5 decibels quieter than a road made of concrete, even with the same vehicles driving over it.  Sometimes even more!
